Supreme Court On EVM-VVPAT: The Supreme Court on Friday (April 26) rejected all the petitions demanding complete verification of votes cast through Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) through Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) slips. The bench of Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Dipankar Dutta also rejected the demand to go back to ballot papers in the elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the opposition to task  regarding this .

Addressing an election rally in Araria, Bihar, PM Modi said, "The decision of the Supreme Court is a big slap on the face of the opposition. Now we will not be able to watch with our faces raised. Today is an auspicious day for democracy, a day of victory." The old era will not return. Every leader of the India Alliance should apologize to the people of the country."

'Some people's dreams were shattered'

He said, "What the Supreme Court said today has shattered all the dreams of some people. Today the High Court has said that the ballot paper will not come back again. Some people have tried to defame EVMs. The Supreme Court has slapped those who tried to defame EVMs. Today is victory day for democracy.

PM Modi further said, "Today, when the whole world praises India's democracy, India's election process, the use of technology in elections, then these people were busy defaming EVM for their personal interests. They There has been a continuous attempt to betray democracy."

'Government formed by looting polling booths and ballot papers'

The Prime Minister said, "Every leader of the INDI alliance has committed the sin of creating doubt in the minds of the public regarding EVMs, but today see the strength of the country's democracy and the Constitution of Baba Saheb Ambedkar, today the Supreme Court has decided that those with the intention of looting the ballot boxes These people have been given such a deep blow that the RJD and Congress alliance neither care about the country's constitution nor about democracy.
