Lok Sabha Election: Abhijit Das against Abhishek Banerjee, ticket for Shivaji's descendant in Satara, BJP releases 12th list

BJP Candidates List: BJP has announced maximum names of candidates for Punjab in the 12th list for the Lok Sabha elections. Names of candidates have been announced for three seats in Punjab.

List of BJP candidates released 

Lok Sabha Election 2024: BJP has released the 12th list of candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday (April 16). In this list, names of candidates have been announced for seven seats in four states. Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal are the states for which BJP has made public the names of its candidates. Maximum names of three candidates have been announced for Punjab.

Chhatrapati Udayanraje Bhosle has been given the ticket from Satara seat of Maharashtra, who comes from the 13th generation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Udayanraje Bhosale, who was made BJP candidate from Satara, has been active in the politics of the area for a long time. He is also currently a Rajya Sabha member. The name of the candidate has been announced only for one seat in Maharashtra. At the same time, Abhijit Das has been given ticket from Diamond Harbor seat of West Bengal. He is going to face TMC general secretary Abhishek Banerjee.

Who did BJP give ticket to in Punjab?

At the same time, the three seats of Punjab for which names of candidates have been announced include Khadoor Sahib, Hoshiarpur (Scheduled Caste) and Bathinda. BJP has made Manjeet Singh Manna Miyavind from Khadur Sahib, Anita Som Prakash from Hoshiarpur and Parampal Kaur Sidhu from Bathinda its candidates. Parampal Kaur Sidhu, a former IAS officer, had joined BJP only last week. She has been posted as Managing Director of Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation.

BJP announced names of 73 candidates in UP

BJP has announced the names of candidates for two seats in Uttar Pradesh. Thakur Vishwadeep Singh has been given the ticket from Firozabad, while Shashank Mani Tripathi has been made the candidate from Deoria. The ticket of current BJP MP Ramapati Tripathi has been canceled from here. BJP has so far announced the names of candidates for 73 seats in UP. UP has 80 Lok Sabha seats and is the state with the highest number of Lok Sabha MPs. 

Lok Sabha elections will begin on April 19 with the first phase of voting. Like last time, this time voting will be conducted in 7 phases. The results will be announced on June 4.
