Lok Sabha Election Phase 4 Voting Live: Voting for the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 is taking place today on Monday (May 13, 2024). For the fourth phase, voting started at 7 am on 96 seats in 10 states and union territories. According to the Election Commission, there are a total of 17.7 crore voters in the fourth phase and 1.92 lakh polling stations.

In this phase, along with the Lok Sabha elections, voting is being held on 175 assembly seats of Andhra Pradesh and 28 assembly seats of Odisha. Along with this, voting time has been extended in Telangana to increase voter participation. In the fourth phase of Lok Sabha, 1717 candidates are contesting from 10 states/union territories. In Phase 4, 122 air flights were arranged in three states (Andhra Pradesh-02, Jharkhand- 108; Odisha-12) to ferry polling and security officials.

More than 19 lakh polling officers are welcoming more than 17.7 crore voters at 1.92 lakh polling stations. There are 8.97 crore male and 8.73 crore female voters in this phase. For Phase 4, there are over 12.49 lakh 85+ year old and 19.99 lakh PwD voters who have been given the option to vote from the comfort of their homes.

For Phase 4 of the General Elections 2024, 364 observers (126 General Observers, 70 Police Observers, 168 Expenditure Observers) had reached their constituencies a few days before the voting. A total of 4661 flying squads, 4438 static surveillance teams, 1710 video surveillance teams and 934 video surveillance teams are keeping a round-the-clock vigil to strictly and swiftly deal with any kind of inducement of voters.

A total of 1016 interstate and 121 international border posts are keeping a strict vigil on any illegal flow of liquor, drugs, cash and freebies. Strict surveillance has been maintained on sea and air routes.

Among the states where voting is taking place, elections are being held on 25 seats of Andhra Pradesh as well as all 17 seats of Telangana. So, in this phase, 11 seats of Uttar Pradesh, 11 of Maharashtra, 8 each of Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal, 5 of Bihar, 4 each of Odisha and Jharkhand and one seat of Jammu and Kashmir are included.

Violence in West Bengal: Bomb attack on TMC worker in Bengal
