Lok Sabha Elections 2024: The campaign for the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 ended at 6 pm on Wednesday (April 17, 2024). A statement issued by the Election Commission of India said, "The campaigning for the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections ended at 3 pm in the North East, while in the rest of the country it ended at 6 pm." Earlier in the day, all the major political parties exerted their full force on the ground through rallies, road shows and public meetings. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Nalbari in Assam during the day, where he said in a rally that it is clearly visible what the result is going to be on June 4. In such a situation people say – 4th June, 400 crossed! Once again Modi government.
In the morning, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav held a joint press conference in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, adjacent to Delhi, during which they attacked BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During this time, a video song was also released by the India Alliance, which includes videos and photos of Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi together from the year 2017 till now.
Meanwhile, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi held her first road show in Saharanpur. She traveled 1.5 km in about 25 minutes and said – I am saying everywhere that this election should be for the people. It should be on people's issues. PM Narendra Modi and BJP leaders are not talking about unemployment, inflation, farmers, women. There is talk of diverting attention here and there. Those who are in power are not worshipers of Mother Shakti and Truth, they are worshipers of 'power'.
