Elon Musk India Visit Postpone: Tesla CEO Elon Musk's India visit has been postponed. Musk was scheduled to visit India for two days on 21-22 April. CNBC-TV18, quoting sources, has informed about the postponement of Musk's visit on Saturday (April 20). Elon Musk was scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi , where he was going to talk about Tesla's entry in the Indian market. He also had plans to discuss setting up a Tesla plant in India.
However, it has not yet been revealed the reasons why Tesla CEO Musk has postponed his visit to India. Sources have said that Elon Musk's visit to India was taking place at a time when he has to answer questions regarding Tesla's first quarter performance in America on April 23. If Musk had been in India on 21-22, it would have been difficult for him to attend the conference call on 23 April. It is believed that due to this reason the India tour has been postponed.
Musk had expressed his desire to meet PM Modi
In fact, on April 10, Elon Musk had posted on social media platform X that he wanted to meet PM Modi. Musk was to visit India a few days later. He was coming to India at a time when the government has notified a new electric vehicle manufacturing policy. Under this, concessions can be given to electric car companies committed under the 'Make in India' initiative of the Government of India.
Musk plans to invest $30 billion in India
Sources had earlier told that during the meeting with PM Modi, Elon Musk was going to present a roadmap for investment of 20 to 30 billion dollars in India. However, it was also learned that no agreement was going to be made regarding Starlink during Musk's visit. When PM Modi visited America in June last year, he met Musk. He had told the PM at that time that he wanted to enter the Indian market.
